KIDS DRAWING CLASSES - HUMBLE, TX

Kids Basics Drawing - Learning to See
A playful, focused drawing class designed to help kids slow down, build confidence, and discover how to really see the world around them.
Inspired by the approach of Betty Edwards, this class gently introduces observational drawing in a way that feels fun, engaging, and confidence-building.
Each week builds gently, helping kids grow more confident and independent.
No experience needed.
Just a willingness to look again.
Investment: $295 (all materials included).
Over 6 weeks, we’ll explore foundational drawing skills through simple, powerful exercises:
-
Contour drawing (training the eye + hand connection)
-
Seeing shapes and negative space
-
Basic proportion and placement
-

About the Artist
I’m a working artist based in Texas, creating layered, expressive paintings inspired by nature, color, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Drawing and a Master’s degree in Painting, and for nearly 10 years I’ve shared my work through galleries and juried art festivals, with collectors acquiring my work across the country. For over 20 years I've created decorative finishes and large-scale projects in homes and businesses giving me a deep understanding of materials, color, and surface.
Teaching has grown naturally from my own practice. I’m drawn to helping others slow down, see more clearly, and reconnect with their creative voice - whether they’re just beginning or returning to art after time away.
My classes are not about perfection - they’re about learning to see, trust yourself, and enjoy the process of creating something with your own hands.
What To Bring
-
Clothes they feel comfortable in (okay to get a little messy)
-
A water bottle
-
A small snack
-
Optional: a favorite sketchbook or supplies

Between Sessions
At the end of each class, I’ll offer a simple creative prompt and homework assignments to carry with them into the week - something to keep their eyes open, their hands moving, and their ideas flowing.
A Note for Parents
This class helps children build focus, patience, and confidence - not just drawing skills.
Many kids discover:
-
improved concentration
-
a calming creative outlet
-
pride in creating something from observation
It’s a beautiful counterbalance to fast-paced, digital life.
