Summer Lydick - Artist

About the Artist

I’m a working artist based in Texas, creating layered, expressive paintings inspired by nature, color, and the quiet beauty of everyday life.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Drawing and a Master’s degree in Painting, and for nearly 10 years I’ve shared my work through galleries and juried art festivals, with collectors acquiring my work across the country. For over 20 years I've created decorative finishes and large-scale projects in homes and businesses giving me a deep understanding of materials, color, and surface.

Teaching has grown naturally from my own practice. I’m drawn to helping others slow down, see more clearly, and reconnect with their creative voice - whether they’re just beginning or returning to art after time away.

My classes are not about perfection - they’re about learning to see, trust yourself, and enjoy the process of creating something with your own hands.

What To Bring

Come as you are - but a few personal touches will make the experience even more special:

  • Clothes you feel good in - that you don’t mind getting dirty

  • Your favorite mug - I’ll have coffee and hot tea ready for you

  • A light lunch or snack - to keep your energy steady and your creativity flowing

  • A journal or sketchbook - for notes, ideas, and quiet moments of reflection

Between Sessions

At the end of each class, I’ll offer a simple creative prompt and homework assignments to carry with you into the week - something to keep your eyes open, your hands moving, and your ideas flowing.
